All good things come to an end

Sad to say it but we lost our first play off game which means kickball is over! I have to admit, I didn't think I would have this much fun playing kickball but I had a blast! I think Tren started coming around after he relized we weren't going to win.

Here is our team! We couldn't have had better people on the team. I freakin love these guys!
From left to right-back: Boggs, Brady, Gary, Tren, Jared and Scott
Front: Candy, Jamie, Angela, Sara and me

Goofing off - which we obviously did a lot of since we struggled to win a game

Me and Candy being weird... and Gary showing off a picture Jamie's little girl drew of him

Look at this guy! Isn't he so stinkin cute! I just love him!

Look who's engaged....

Congratulations to my dad and Kim!
My dad asked Kim to marry him on Thursday June 17th and she said yes!
I don't know if many of you know, but I threatened my dad to be sure this day would never come, back when my mom had recently passed away. I didn't want to know the pain that I thought I would feel to see my dad fall in love with another woman.
Truly, I don't think my dad could have found a better woman! She has been nothing but wonderful to our family. She is very sensitive to the fact that this has (and probably will contine to be) a rollercoaster of emotions for all the kids. But I truly believe my mom played a BIG hand in picking Kim for our family.
My biggest concern was the 3 little ones and how they would react to
A. my dad dating
and
B. Kim and dad getting married
I have to say, they were a little hesitant at first but the way Kim interacted with them was nothing but amazing. Although she doesn't have kids of her own, she has that maternal way with them. They have warmed up to her so fast and absolutely ADORE her. That has helped put all the older kids at ease!
I am so happy that my dad is happy! We have seen such a change in him - for the positive of course. We are excited Kim has taken on the challenge of our crazy family! But lets just say it, she fits right in. :)

Let the Gardening begin

Like I said... I am a little behind with the blogging.
We did this back at the beginning of May... but it's that time again!
We love gardening and I can not wait for the fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, watermelon, corn, squash, cantalope.... you get the point. I can NOT wait!

It's going to be so nice to make salads from fresh veggies and spagetti sauce from scratch. mmmm-mmmmm

Here's Tren and I getting down and dirty in the dirt!

My hansom honey finishing up watering.

I am gonna have to take a picture of the garden now... everything is growing GREAT!

Sad Day for Deisel

Deisel has not enjoyed 'the cone of shame' this last week! Poor guy won't stop licking his wounds, so he gets to keep it on!
Can you believe how how much he has grown! He's already 25 lbs and only 15 weeks! CRAZY!! He is going to get a ton bigger too!
He has been such a good sport!

Tren got a killer deal.... at first I was mad he made such a big decision without me (the decision involved hundreds of dollars)... but when I saw them, I was SOOOOO excited!
All I have to say is thank goodness for savings!
Here's our old washer and dryer, in the truck going bye bye
Hello new washer and dryer! I LOVE LOVE LOVE them!

Memorial Weekend

Memorial weekend was so much fun! We went camping with our good friends Gary and Kim. We went to the gorgeous fish lake!

I was a little nervous about it being too cold considering they were just now letting boats on the lake since the ICE had JUST melted less than 2 weeks ago. There were still patches of snow and we were totally roughing it in tents.
But we were lucky! No rain, no snow, just sunshine.

Gary was SO proud of his knife. I had to take a picture! It was hilarious! Here's Tren pointing out Gary's 'sweet' knife. These boys are a hoot to watch together! Me and Kim just laugh cuz they are constantly giggling like little school girls!
Deisel's first camping trip! He was sooooo good. I was nervous cuz camping with a puppy is NOT fun! (Personal experience) But he was really really good.

Our first morning! Tren is an amazing cook, as I have said before, he made us a delicious breakfast. Kim warming up waiting for breakfast to be done.

Launching the boat! We were super excited start fishing!

Look at that beauty I caught... yep, the biggest fish of the weekend! Gary was a little jealous!

It was SO fun going with Kim. These were the FIRST fish she had ever caught! I think we got her hooked on fishing! Now I have a fishing buddy! YAY!

It was a super fun, but exhausting weekend! Tren took a picture of me and roxy zonked on the way home! I can't wait for the next camping trip! Gary, Kim, you ready???

BBQ

The great weather is here which means it's time for BBQ's and volleyball!! Wahoo!! I love it!
Stephen and Shaline making some burger patties... Stephen just kept adding random seasonings, I was a little nervous to try them but they turned out great!

Tren is our designated grill guy at the Nelsons! He definitely knows what he is doing! I don't know how we ever did BBQ's with out him!

Practicing some baseball while waiting on food... Dannion is one heck of a hitter!

Nothing like a competitive game of twister with full bellies!! You would think the little, limber kids would win at this... nope... my hansom husband won everytime!

We had a blast, as always! I am excited for the next one... and next time I will for sure get pictures of volleyball!

Mother's Day

I am so behind on my blogging!!!
Mother's Day was fun! We were able to spend time with both Tren and my family.
Here is Tren with his gorgeous mom, Tory!
Tren and I went with his parents to visit Grandma Hagman.
She is at a rehabilitation facility while she is recovering from foot surgery! I really hope she had a good mother's day! It's no fun laying in bed for weeks!

Then Tren and I went with my family to take flowers to my mom's grave. It was nice to have the whole family together! It's a hard thing to do with 7 kids!

Later in the day we went to visit Grandma Nelson. We sang for her the song we sang at Brandall's homecoming. She wasn't able to make it, so we brought the music to her.
Belated Mother's Day Gift!
Every year for Mother's Day, Tren and I plant Tory's garden.
Although we were a week late, we got it done.
I hope you love it Tory!
