growing fast

Piper is growing so fast!  She is 3 months now.  She is.....

* smiling, giggling, and 'talking' a TON

* a happy girl 90% of the time 

* Needs to be entertained with toys, music, outdoors and being held

* Continues to eat every 2-3 hours during the day but sleeps anywhere from 4-7 hrs at night (YAY) 

* wearing 6 mth clothes

* Can almost sit up unassisted

* Starting to 'like' tummy time

* Has not rolled over yet

and we just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this girl!

Oh my how stressful/eventful life has become in the last few months....

On May 31st Tren and I closed on our home in Riverton.  We were sad to leave our first home that we bought a month after being married, the house we put many hours of work and sweat into to make it our home, the place we brought our sweet Piper home to, etc  We just loved that home and community.  However, it's for the best and we are excited for our future endeavors.

We packed up all of our belongings and only kept the necessities with us. (which is a lot when you have a baby)  Our whole home is packed up in a truck and it's sitting in storage somewhere in Denver as we speak.  Piper and I then moved in with my dad and family for about two weeks while Tren continued to commute to Denver weekly and being home only on the weekends.  Like I said, it only lasted about 2 weeks because we NEEDED to be together as a family.  Tren was missing out on a lot of Piper's 'firsts' and we were needing him to be around more often.  It was too difficult to have him only on the weekends which began to be packed with family and friend activitiess because everybody needed time with Tren. (he's that great)  Needless to say, Piper and I didn't get much time with him!  So, we again packed up all our stuff and we all moved out to Denver together mid June.

We have been living in a condo temporarily (this condo is FANTASTIC), but we will AGAIN move because we only have it until the end of the month.  We will be staying in a hotel until we are able to close on our home here in Colorado.  Tren and I have had an offer in on a home, which happens to be a short sale, for the last 2 months.  We were hoping it would be going quicker than it has but we continue to patiently wait.  We have looked at several (probably about 60) homes in the mean time which just confirmed to us that this house we have an offer in on was our future 'home.'  We felt very good about it.  Just yesterday we returned to the house and again felt right at home as soon as we walked in the door.  It has plenty of space for a growing family (which will not be growing anymore anytime soon) and for visitors to come stay with us.  (yes, that is an open invitation for all you family and friends following this blog). 

So we will continue to wait patiently. (I use the term patiently very loosely because we all know both Tren and I lack this trait)  And we will announce it to the world when we finally close and move into our new home!!  Until then, we will continue to play hard and explore our new community!

It's a party

I have some of the best girl friends ever!  Jena and Megan threw a party for Piper and I.  We had a blast chatting, enjoying banana splits with leatherby's caramel (the BEST topping EVER) and playing with Megan's adorable puppy Houston!  It was also so much fun to catch up with my good friend and old co-worker Sontum. (unfortunately I didn't get a picture with her) 
The party couldn't have been at a better time - we were moving everything out of our home that day and I really needed a break and to get out of the house!  Thanks again girls for spoiling Piper and I!  We sure love you guys!

Piper is getting so big so fast!  At her 2 month check up she weighed 14 lbs (97 percentile) and was 23 in tall (80%).  She is a chunky and tall cookie.  We just ADORE her.  She is so smiley and has quite the personality!

Birthday

I turned the big 2-7 on May 14th.  It was such a fun day!  Tren pampered and spoiled me all day!

We celebrated with the Hagmans the day before while we were spending Mothers Day with them. My birthday morning Tren made me breakfast in bed.  He even made my coffee just right (which is difficult to do.)  He then surprised me with cash to go spend on myself.  He took Piper for a couple of hours so I could shop without interruption.

I definitely had to stop at iceberg for my FREE birthday shake.  I of course got my usual, grasshoper!  (Mint oreo)

We then met up with my family at my dads for a night of BBQ'ing and volleyball (my favorite).  Uncle Dannion (10 yrs old) loves holding his new neice.  She looks HUGE in his skinny little arms!



Volleyball with the family.  Shaline was great and took care of Piper so that Tren and I could get our game on!  Unfortunately, our team lost.  But it was still super fun!

Tren was stressing me out balancing Piper... she's only 7 weeks old!!  Piper didn't seem to mind.  She actually seemed to enjoy having all eyes on her!  (she did not get that from her mother!)
