St Kitts

Our last island we went to was St. Kitts - another favorite. We would totally go back!
When we ported, there was already another cruise ship there - we got this picture. I am still amazed had how enourmous these ships are!

When we got off the ship - all the locals were there offering to you sell you stuff, playing live music, dancing, etc. It was like a huge party just for us! :)

TONS of the locals wered carrying around monkeys (there pet of choice) - I couldn't resist - I had to hold one! I lucked out and got to hold 2! It made my day!

Tren however wanted nothing to do with the monkeys. He didn't want to hold or touch them. The kid (who owned the monkeys) told him to get in the picture with me - he was a good sport and smiled for the camera. I just love this pictures.

We were walking around shopping and this kid was standing on the side of the road with his monkey chillin on his arm. It was so crazy! A picture of the city
We decided to get a tour of the island by taking a 4x4 excursion. This was our ride for the next few hours! We were packed in with a bunch of french speaking canadians. It was so fun to listen to them cuz both Tren and I took french in middle school.
When we started off on the tour, we were able to get a good picture of the ship.
They took us high up in the mountains as part of the tour. It was absolutely breath taking!
We were able to see almost the whole island plus their sister island Nevis.
My wild life husband was of course checking out all the plants.
There were cocanuts everywhere - too bad T and I aren't fond of cocanut.
So our guide took us on the other side of the mountain to get a glimpse of the Atlantic side. Mind you, we were in the jungle and I am a little short. I could not see over the plants. My sweet husband let me get on his shoulders so I could see.

After the tour of the towns, city and mountains - they took us to a resort to relax on the beach. It was gorgeous! Tren and I walk over to this little cove where there was nobody else. It was so fun to swim around and enjoy the ocean with nobody else around!

Anniversary on St. Lucia

Our second island we went to was St. Lucia - a first for both Tren and I. This was the day of our 2nd anniversary. We decided to book something we both LOVE - deep sea fishing.
St. Lucia
We were all geared up and ready to go, just had to wait for the boat to port. We were super stoked to get fishing!

Our fishing boat
The bait and lure - it was GINORMOUS! But I guess we had the potential of catching 600 lb + fish.
We lucked out and caught this beauty! Tren and I's biggest catch yet - a 25 lb Wahoo.
Tren havin a great time
After the high of getting a great catch, we decided to wind down at the beach. It was absolutely beautiful. Tren even lucked out and a huge wave ended up getting him, his towel, shoes and change of clothes soaked while he was laying out. He should have listened to his wife and moved back! :)
You live and you learn - right babe!?!
Back on the ship we celebrated our anniversary. I can honestly say that the last 2 years have flown by - but at the same time I feel like we have been together forever because life is so easy together.
Happy Anniversary baby! It was so much fun! I can't wait to celebrate many many more! I love you!

St. Maarten

Our first Island we stopped at was St. Maarten - my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!! I made it a point to book our cruise so that it included St. Maarten! I strongly recommend you go if you haven't!
I was worried that I talked it up too much and Tren wouldn't like it as much as I do. Turns out it was his favorite island too!
Here's a picture of the island from the cruise ship just as the sun was coming up!

Tren and I before getting off the boat!

We did a lot of walking and a lot of shopping! The architecture and colors were so fun to see. Here's a few pictures of the 'city' Philipsburg.

After a couple of hours of shopping, it was time to cool off in the crystal clear ocean! The weather could not have been better. Mid 80's and the humidity was PERFECT!
Playin on the beach and in the ocean!

I just love this man!
After some fun in the sun, we decided to find a little french cafe and have some lunch.
The food was AMAZING!!! I had a pannini and Tren had a bagget! The french really know how to make amazing bread and sandwhichs!

Another look of the streets of Philipsburg.
Us and our GIGANTIC ship
We had so much fun on St. Maarten! We can't wait to go back!

First couple of days at Sea

Tren and I went on a fabulous 8 day cruise to the Southern Caribbean for our 2 year anniversary. We had SO much fun! This was Tren's first cruise and he loved it! We can't wait for our next one!
Here's a few pictures of our first couple of days at sea.
Tren was OBSESSED with his book - thank goodness because otherwise I don't think he would have layed out with me!

We made it a point to watch the sunset most of the nights! It's absolutely gorgeous going down over the water! Super romantic!
Food was amazing! One night Tren asked for a second main dish for dessert - the waiter's expression was priceless! Little does he know - Tren is a bottomless pit!

Tren and I at one of the many shows!

Rough Day

Today marks 4 years since my sweet mom passed away.
You would think that over time this day would get easier, life without her would somehow start to seem normal - but it doesn't.
I can count on something daily that reminds me of something about my mom and it brings a rush of memories. Don't get me wrong - I love it. It gives me a chance to talk about her, help my husband get to know my amazing mom since he never had the pleasure of meeting her - those memories truly bring a smile to my face!
But days like today - I can't help but feel a little down. I feel like I am missing out on a lot! I envy all those girls whose mom is their best friend and they do everything together.
It just sucks!
I am just grateful that she helped mold my wonderful family before moving on to bigger things. I love my large family - we each help one another out in our own special way. I am grateful for the example she set - never once complaining through 4 months of literal hell. She's Wonder Woman - and I can honestly say nobody comes close to being as amazing as my sweet mom. I freakin love her!
