Yellowstone

Tren, me, Gary and Kim took a fantastic trip to Yellowstone National Park in July. We had a blast. Most of us hadn't been since we were kids. Gary and Kim are our road trip buddies and we were all ready for an adventure!

The drive to Yellowstone went so fast! We arrived at our KOA too early to check in so we had some fun taking pictures until we could get settled in to our Kabin.

Luckily, this was the closest I got to a bear on this trip. For some reason, myself and most of the kids in my family, are TERRIFIED of bears. (who knows why) So thankfully I had no up close encounters.... at least with bears.

Gary outside of our Kabin - gotta love the cheesy grin and wave!

Gary and Tren - our cheesy boys! These two just giggle when they are around each other. They are each others brothers since neither of them have one.

Myself and Kim - relaxing and enjoying the mountain air.
Grabbing a bite to eat at the Geyser Grill before heading into the park

Don't they look like tourists?? They kept Kim and I laughing the whole trip!

Happy tourists

You gotta go to Old Faithful when in Yellowstone - not just to see it but to enjoy their amazing frozen yogurt! We actually went back a second time for more yogurt.

Tren with a big bull elk behind him. He was just chillin there chewing on some grass while EVERYONE took pictures of him (the elk - not Tren)

The four of us at a gorgeous waterfall

Ok folks - I may not have had a close encounter with a bear.... but we did have a TOO CLOSE for COMFORT encounter with this black wolf.

We got out of our car to take some pictures by a beautiful river. We walk about 20 feet from our car, all 4 of us standing next to a bridge. I ask Tren to turn around to face me so I can get a picture. He turned around and saw a wolf about 20 feet behind me and he was walking right towards us. I knew by his face that he wasn't kidding and I slowly turn around and I am face to face with this black wolf and he is by now about 10 feet from us. I put my hand over my mouth and start doing a little dance (similar to a child's potty dance). Tren casually walks and gets in front of me ( I thought he was being tough and protecting me) - nope, he immediately started snapping pictures and I was apparently in his way.

Luckily everything turned out ok - the wolf started heading the opposite direction of us which gave us a chance to 'casually' walk to our car. Scariest 2 minutes of my life - no joke!

A bunch of elk chilling in shade in the middle of town

Buffalo A mommy buffalo and her babies - so cute!

Tren and I at a pretty waterfall - no wolf surprised us this time

We had a blast and can't wait to go next year. We want to start going every year - especially when we have a family!
