Trick or Treat

Piper got quite a bit of practice 'Trick or Treating' this year.  Our city had LOTS of things for the kids to attend and dress up.  We had a blast going to our local fire station where the kids did some trick or treating as well as met the fire fighters and got to climb through their fire engines and other vehicles.
My loves
Ah kay.... this picture is priceless!  The back story: Piper was staring at this dog from the second we pulled into the parking lot.  She was waving and giddy, just so excited to see it!  She even started walking closer and closer to the dog.  It wasn't until she got within reach that she had a complete melt down and sheer terror on her face.  The kid could not make up her mind on whether she liked or hated that poor fire dog.

 Someone thinks she's hot stuff!
A few days later our mom group did a trick or treating event at our local nursing home.  Piper had fun on the first floor but by the time we got done on the fourth floor she was beat and ready to high tail it out of there.  She had fun trick or treating with her friends and getting her cheeks pinched a time or two.

Lastly Halloween had arrived and Piper had quite the entourage.  My sister and 2 of my brothers came out to visit over Halloween, so needless to say, Piper had quite the crew following her.
This kid was cracking me up!  Luckily this is our sweet neighbor but Piper just walked right up and pushed her face up to the screen door and waited until she was noticed.  I was dying laughing.  This picture just doesn't do it justice!

 The entourage
After a few houses Piper was saying trick or treat and already digging into her candy!  We all sure had fun!

Pumpkin Carving Time

Last year Piper loved carving pumpkins.  In fact, she spent most of her time eating the pumpkin guts than doing anything else.  This year, she wanted to play with the carving tools and that's about it.  She tried helping scoop the guts out once but lost interest very quickly after that.  Luckily mommy and daddy enjoyed carving the pumpkins.

Success!  She loved looking at the final product!  Maybe next year she'll want to jump in and help.

Pumpkin patch

Fall is (or at least was) in the air and that means pumpkin patch time!  Piper and I got there first and daddy met us after work.  We had a lot of fun checking out and 'trying' to pick up all the pumpkins.

 Piper quickly found her pumpkin

This little girl was SOOOO excited to see daddy when he showed up!  Look at that smile!  It's the first one of the night because heaven forbid she smile for ANY pictures I try to take of her!

After an hour or so of looking, we found the perfect pumpkins to take home!  We couldn't wait to start carving them!

Chylie's first hunt

As many (if not all of you) know that Tren is a big hunter!  And I love it 95% of the time.  I decided that it was finally time for me to get my hunters safety so that I can hunt with him now that we are out of state and away from his usual hunting buddies.  (I am not ok with him hunting alone)  So I did it.  Passed with flying colors on both my written exam and shooting.  I drew out an elk tag and last month I left my baby for the first time over night (for multiple nights) so that Tren and I could go camping, hunting and have a nice little vacation together alone.  We had a blast!  I loved every minute of it!

We got the ideal camping spot.  We had 4-6 inches of snow which is great for hunting.  Tren hiked my butt off (LITERALLY).  The man never works out and although I work out regularly, he kicked my butt with miles and miles of brutal hiking.  But I sure loved it!

While on this hunting trip, I let Tren in on a little secret.
We are PREGNANT!!!!
We're due June 14, 2014 and we are so excited!  We couldn't be happier!  Luckily on this trip I was only about 5 weeks pregnant and feeling just a wee bit tired but no nausea so we were able to enjoy the time together.
Side note: no animals were harmed or killed on this trip (unfortunately).  We saw a couple of deer and some elk tracks but never did see an elk.  We came home empty handed but still had a blast hunting!
