early christmas gift

Christmas came early this year for Tren's mom, Tory... for Christams she wanted her bedroom painted so T and I (the amazing painters that we are) took on the job! So far, we only have half of her room painted. (we had to take a break for turkey day) But we plan to finish it soon! Here's Tory posing infront of her half painted wall... T's being a goof behind her!

We had some fun playing around with the paint before we got to work! Tren painted the C + T! Even Roxy (our pooch) wanted to help! She's handing Tren the paint brush... ok, not really.... she wouldn't touch the brush but we tried to make it look like she was helping!

ROCK MOUNTAIN BIGHORN HUNT 2009

After drawing a bighorn tag with only 6 points this year, I finally got one. He scores a little over 150 points and is very symmetrical. Both sides are broomed off and he carries his mass pretty well.

This was the typical ram that we saw while hunting this area. We probably saw 20 rams altogether and I would say that about 3/4 of them were like this ram.

This is the area that we were hunting. It was the Sheep Creek Drainage, just out of Manila by Flaming Gorge. It was full of great views and all kinds of wildlife. Not only did we see Bighorn, but we saw plenty of deer and elk and a few antelope and moose as well. We even saw several Coyotes.

We spotted this ram on sunday and decided that he was ashooter. The picture is thru the spotting scope, but he was about 600 yards a way when we spotted him. I decided that I would make a move on him.

After an hour long stalk, to get to the ridge across from him and the two other rams that were with him, I made a great first shot and hit him right thru the lungs. He only went about 50 yards before he was finished.

Once he was down the work began. We loaded my pack with the cape and all the meat, except for the hind quarters. For those we found a branch and my dad carried them out over his shoulders. This is a great picture.

It was just getting dark when we got to the truck.
This was my pack with the majority of the weight.

It was a great hunt and I enjoyed every second of it. I want to thank my Dad for being there the entire time, and for bustin his butt in getting the ram out to the truck. I also want to thank my wife for being very patient with how much money and time was spent on this "Once in a Lifetime Hunt".

Missing Summer Already!

So this cold weather is already making me miss summer! It's bittersweet... snow means Thanksgiving and Christmans is close...(YAY) but it's just the beginning and I am already looking forward to next summer for some good old fashion fun of fishing and camping with my honey and close friends! So here's a few pictures of Tren and I's great summer!!

Doesn't that make you guys wanna go fishin and spend the day on the lake??

Missing summer already!

It's always a party when you get you your close friends and family together up in the mountains! There's no telling whats gonna happen but we seem to always have fun!

That's odd.... Roxy is sleeping where I should be!
What a princess!!
Tren's all tuckered out from a late night :)

Deer Hunt

So I am a little behind on my blogging! Back in October Tren went on his deer hunt. He and his dad were sweet enough to let Tory (Tren's mom) and I tag along! So while they were hunting, we were chillin at camp. We had a good time!

Can you tell that Tren is a huge morning person?

update

So Halloween was super fun!! I was able to take my good friend Megan to the Utah football game! We had a blast!! (Pictures to come) The weather was great, the game was fun and the cotton candy couldn't have tasted better! After the game we went to a Halloween party which was almost as fun as the game! ;) Tren went on his elk hunt over Halloween weekend. He came home empty handed but he had a great time with his dad and friends.

This last weekend, my sweet husband left his sick wife home to go on another hunt.... not just any hunt tho... it's the 'hunt of a lifetime' he tells me! He and his dad went hunting for a big horn sheep. They saw a few but none were big enough to shoot the first weekend! Don't worry, this hunt goes all of November so he still has plenty of time to find that perfect sheep! (Right honey)
