That time of year...

Well, it's that time of year again and we can honestly say that we aren't too excited about it this year! We would much rather be fishing, watching football, camping, hunting (tren would, not so much me) or something else with our weekends than bottle.... but I know if we didn't then we would regret it come winter and spring when we are craving our delicious beets, salsa and spagetti sauce!
Tren's getting the bottles prepped and ready to go

Then comes the big task of picking and scrubbing the beets. We planted 4 1/2 rows this year because last year we didn't bottle anywhere near enough beets to last us!

Cutting off the beet greens... I really wish we liked eating them so we didn't waist them... but at least I was able to put them in my compost!

Peeling the beets after they were pressure cooked.
It's so fun to have your hands stained purple for the next week or so
My hansom man packin the bottles nice and tight

We couldn't believe how many bottles we ended up doing
It was a lot of work and 2 very long days but all worth it!
We are SO proud of ourselves!

Pleased to announce...

Mr and Mrs Karl Nelson
My dad and Kim were sealed in the Mount Timpanogos Temple on August 19th, 2010

More pictures of the big day to come!

State fair with the girlies...

We did a girls night out to the State Fair and it was so much fun! I absolutely love the fair - especially the delicious food! I did pretty good about not eating too much crap - but I definitely did indulge in some of my favorite foods!

We started off checking out the animals - another favorite of mine. These baby pigs were so stinkin cute.... the mama - not so much!
I love this little girl!! Aniston's smile just kept getting better as the night went on. She wasn't too keen on touching the animals (I wonder where she gets that from LOL) But Jessica did get her to touch a goat!
Jessica and her ADORABLE little man Dylan! I hadn't seen him since he was born - I dunno what I was expecting - but he was so much bigger than I thought!
Look at that grin! I fell in love with this boy!
Megan checkin out the sheep
Indulging in a deep fried snickers. Can I just say AMAZING
Jessica left before we could get a picture of all 4 of us!
But here is me, Jena and Megan. I absolutely LOVE these girls!

Pineview

We went on the annual Pine View trip with the Hagman clan plus MANY other close friends. There were so many people there! I swear, the group gets bigger and bigger each year. We had a blast!
Every morning T and I took the dogs down to the lake to play in the water before breakfast. It was so nice cuz nobody was down there and we could just let them run and around and go crazy. This was especially good for Deisel as he tends to be distracted easily, which then causes his brain to shut off and therefore he doesn't listen. So it was nice not having anyone around!
Tren and Roxy playing in the water
Tren playing with Deisel on the beach
I'm just patiently waiting for breakfast
Angie
Once again... as you see in all the other camping posts.... Tren is the designated Chef! This boy can cook!
Chase and Grady playing some baseball while waiting for it to warm up to go play in the lake.
Tren and Chase going tubing! This stressed me out to watch - being a nurse, I know the damage that can happen from a wipe out. Although they did have a pretty good wipe out, they survived with minimal injuries!
John is getting ready to go for a ride
Me and my honey
Jon and Baxter playin in the water
Tory, Tren and Deisel relaxing on the beach
Too much sun for me - I was exhausted! Deisel and I gettin ready for a nap!
Tren and I - don't you just love his cheesey grin! :)
A whole bunch of us sitting around the campfire!
Tren, Meagen, Shelby and Dee
Kim, John and I are all smiles!
Jersey and Tren enjoying breakfast together
Kim, me, Deisel and Tory just enjoying the morning.
Look at that view behind us! Tory really knows how to pick a good camp spot!
Tren and Gary are twins - aaaahhhh!
We had a blast chillin in the lake and soaking up the rays!
I just love this hansom man!
Charmaine and John helping out with dinner! Charmaine was so kind to sing for everyone while they were working! She is so stinkin funny! I just love her!

It's always chaotic cooking -- too many chiefs and not enough indians!
I stay out of it!
Tren with his mama Tory
Tren and his sweet grandma Joy - I absolutely love this woman!

Moon Lake

The Nelson family took a trip up to Moon Lake for a nice relaxing camping trip. It was SO nice. It was just the immediate family which I loved because sometimes it gets too hectic with tons of people!
Kim was able to come up with us and get an idea of what we're like 24/7. She fit in great. Here she is with her dog Dallas - she kept barking even though Kim was covering her mouth. It was hilarious.

Here's me and my baby Deisel. He did so good and my younger siblings just LOVE him.

Tren and I brought up our fishing boat and took everyone out fishing. I am proud to say EVERYONE caught a fish. We had a blast!
Here's Brindyn - so excited to have caught a fish. She might have squeezed it a little too hard cuz she was so stoked!
Look at that grin! We just love this kid. Dannion was pretty excited to catch his fish!
We took a break from fishing and played in the water! It was FREEZING! But Dannion and Brindyn were having a blast taking a mud bath! They were filthy - but very entertaining!

Shaline sun bathing!
Roxy was ready to go swimming! She had her goggles on and just waiting for someone to throw her ball! (Poor dog - I play dress up with her way too much!)
Tren's ready too! The goggles are just barely big enough to cover his eyes! LOL
I started feeling sick so me and the dogs went back to camp to lay down. Tren loved how the dogs were laying with me on the blanket - he couldn't resist taking a picture! We were all pooped!
Tren and Shaline

So lets me honest... the fish weren't biting a whole lot - Stephen is a little ADHD and was getting pretty bored! He tried some new positions holding his fishing pole - it didn't really cut it, so he got on the front of the boat and ......
rode it like it was a wild bucking bull! Man this boy is entertainment!
Shaline, Stephen and me after a long's day of fishin! Thanks Tren for taking us out on the lake - I know we aren't the quietest when we are together!
Tren in his typical spot - cooking! He's good at what he does!
The whole family playing the candy bar game! This is tradition in our family! It was time Kim learned how to play!
More fishing! Sean, Dad, Shaline and me
Sean was a little slow catching his fish! He was the last one but he finally got it! The poor fish really did a number when it swallowed the hook - I helped Sean get the hook out and as far as we know, the fish survived to live another day!

Sean was so excited!
My family just adores Tren - especially Brindyn and Dannion - they just can't get enough of him. Poor Tren has had to learn to adjust to have kids attached at his hip at all times.

It was so much fun having most everyone together! We were only missing Brandall but he was visiting Brazil which I think was a good enough excuse.

I can't wait for our next trip! I always look forward to hanging out with the family! I absolutely LOVE being with them. Everyone has such a positive outlook on life even though we have had so many curve balls thrown our way the last few years. I am continuously learning to be a better person from my family. They amaze me daily!
