That time of year

A couple weeks ago we bottled our delicious salsa! We decided to do it outside for the first time which was a VERY smart idea because we ended up having a bottle explode on us which would have been a PAIN to clean up had we been in the house.
Here is Tren with our whole set up in the backyard.

Hudson came with Grandma to help bottle! He did such a great job with every task we asked him to do. Here I am trying to help best I can between the nausea and dizziness. So glad the first trimester is over!

Working Hard - the salsa smelled SO good!











The mess that was created when the bottle exploded. I was standing right next to the steamer when it happened. I got splashed with hot salsa. What an experience.

The final product - we bottled nowhere near the usual amount due to our tomatoe's taking FOREVER to ripen up, but this will last us through the year.

  1. How fun! We also did a ton of canning this year. And by we I mean me. I did salsa, peaches, strawberry and raspberry jam, apple pie filling, and then I froze corn, zucchini, and some zucchini bread. It's a ton of work but sooo worth it!
