Nanjing

NANJING
Grandma striking a pose in the bus. We were getting ready to head out for Nanjing.
And me and courtney passing the time on the bus ride to our next location!

Ancient Chinese art. This was constructed by hand with NO nails! Talk about talent! It had unbelievable detail.
Sorry for the visual, but this was the NICEST public bathroom I used! My grandma was a saint to come in to take the picture for me!

I had to get a picture of the 'toilets' if that's what you call them. Most of the time it was just a hole in the ground and almost never did they have toilet paper! But us girls came prepared! I carried around TP, wet wipes and A LOT of hand sanitizer cuz nobody washes their hands after using the potty over there! It was CRAZY! All I can say is I returned home with some toned legs and amazing balance! :)

This was one of the temples we literally hiked up to.
One of the guys in our group passed out once he reached the top because of the extreme heat and the humidity! We are assuming he hadn't been drinking enough water too. We couldn't drink ANY of the water unless it was from the bus because a lot of the people there would fill up water bottles with the local water and sell it which would make you SUPER sick. Even at our 5 star hotels, we had to use bottled water to brush our teeth!

Nanjing
This city was beautiful.
This was our view out of our hotel window.
Me and my sweet grandma at one of the dance showcases. After more than a week of Chinese food, we would have killed for some good old American food. What do you know, China has a pizza hut! Everyone got there own little pizza - the only difference was it had everything but the kitchen sink on them. They truly had the most random things on them. You don't pick and choose what kind you want... you just got what you got. Mine had corn, celery, cheese (but it didn't taste like cow cheese), olives, peppers and some kind of fish. It actually tasted pretty good! :)
Me and Teri in the city of Nanjing! It was gorgeous and the shopping was GREAT! The humidity was 100% and it was over 100 degrees the whole time we were there! Hence, my curly frizzy hair!

Some of my favorite women!!
Starting on the left is my Grandma Leisel, cousin Courtney, Me, cousin Teri and my Aunt Frances.
This is your typical dining table in China. You put all the food in the middle and it spins! Made things a lot easier. You always were given some kind of tea (which all tasted like dirty bath water to me - How I know what dirty bath water tastes like is beyond me), rice, watermelon, a vegetable and a couple main dishes. There was always plenty of food to go around!
